It was the second time our Soldado was visiting the city, the first time being the beginning of the end, or the end of an "era", depending on how you wanna see it. I wonder if Copenhagen turns out to be a place that marks important events on the Soldado's life... Anyway, the trip went through Hamburg - Lübeck - Puttgarden where we took the ferry..... Arriving at Copenhagen late on Friday night we already visited the night-life for a while..
But next day would be a tough day.. walking around the city with freezing temperatures....
Christiania is a self-governing neighbourhood in Copenhagen... It was founded in the 70s by a group of hippies who took over an area of abandoned military barracks. They have now a semi-legal status as independent community, being in origin declared as a free town. Nowadays.. it is a strange situation. They have their own set of rules, like prohibition of having cars around and stealing or selling hard drugs. But selling hash is common over there what, of course, "annoys" the Danish government. I can't tell too much about it, but it is a difficult situation, where the government keeps on pushing for its removal...but if i am not wrong, some years ago when they tried hard, the whole city of Copenhagen was against it.
Amalienborg Palace, the Royal Family's winter residence, that actually comprises four palaces.
Tivoli, an amusement park right in the middle of the city....
And of course, the Little Mermaid...
But we also enjoyed the Copenhagen's night life.... :-)
And next morning croissants to break the fast (as they used to say in former times.... )
On Sunday we decided to cross the bridge connecting Denmark to Sweden and walk for some hours on swedish lands...
Maybe it is better if you take a look to a postcard to see how impressive it is... (one of the colleagues wanted to save some money by taking a pic of the postcard... he/she was not catalan, i should say :-) )
This is Malmö, where we ate in a terrace.. enjoying a "nice" temperature... (yes, they provide you with blankets...)
That was the face of one of us (it could have been any of us) after finding out that we were not able to pay the coffee neither with euros nor with danish kronas.... :-)
